Six Big Industry Names Commit To Envestnet's Education Portal

Six investment management firms, including BlackRock and Invesco, have linked up with the technology provider Envestnet to contribute to its online education portal for advisors.

Neuberger Berman, Beaumont Capital, Innealta Capital and American Funds will also join the line-up to provide the Envestnet Institute, launched in May 2014, with original content and online courses focusing on retirement planning, alternative investments, practice management and international investing, among other topics.

The portal’s contributors can give advisors practice management tips, as well as answering financial planning questions and deliver advanced market and industry comment, the firm said.

It also allows users to take online courses for financial services accreditation as well as fulfilling the continuing education requirements needed for these.

In addition to the new content provided by the six firms, Envestnet will be incorporating its existing BeyondAlpha online community with the Envestnet Institute, so that advisors can exchange ideas, analysis and business development tips with their peers.

The firm said the move will help advisors improve their business through establishing relations with other advisors and third parties in a compliance-friendly and advert-free environment.

Chicago, IL-headquartered Envestnet took over the BeyondAlpha platform following its acquisition of Placemark Investments in October last year.
